My Christmas Favourites

Chistmas is the only time that we do things as a family and one of my favourite things to do with my family is watch films.  They aren't always Christmas films but some of them are. Some of my faves are:
The Incredibles
Monsters Inc.
Elf
Toy Story
Home Alone
Wreck-it Ralph
Up
As you can see, a lot of them are Pixar, but we all love them so much.

My next favourite thing is Christmas baking. I enjoy making mince pies, Christmas cupcakes and truffles. They're easy to make, there's plenty of recipes, and it's the best time to listen to Christmas music.

Following up from baking, Christmas food is up there, I just love Christmas food so much. It always smells amazing and the desserts like Christmas pudding and mince pies always have that little festive touch of alcohol in. Personally, my favourite to have with mince pies is brandy cream or brandy butter, just because it has a nice kick to it.

My final favourite(apart from Christmas drinks in Costa and Starbucks) is the Chritmas music. Christmas starts earlier and earlier every year, but it's always wrong to listen to Christmas music before 1st December. So when it comes to then my Christmas playlist is blaring out on full blast for the whole month of December. My favourite Christmas songs are -
Fairytale Of Newyork- The Pogues
Step Into Christmas- Elton John
Merry Christmas Everyone- Shakin' Stevens
Last Christmas- Wham
Little Saint Nick- The Beach Boys
I hope you can relate to my choices. Obviously I love all Christmas songs but this is just my top 5.

I didn't really plan this before writing it, I just sort of went straight in. I know it is quite brief but, I don't really get the whole blogging thing, it's just a hobby.

I will probably post again next week, have a wonderful Christmas

Almost New Year, Almost New Me

I haven't been on my blog for over a year now and I really want to start documenting more on here. I want to do reviews of products, diary entries when I do interesting things and other stuff that is topical.
As you can tell though, I am so uncommitted to things like this, I haven't posted for 15 months for God's sake, but I am making this promise now at 12:40 am, that I will try and make updates a regular thing.
I have been asked 3 or 4 times lately, if I do YouTube, which I don't. But I got speaking to one of the people who have DM'd me about it and I might consider it. However as I am so uncommitted, I am going to try posting more regularly on here for the time being and then I might consider going on to YouTube.
Have a lovely Christmas you beautiful people,
Much Love

Socially Awkward Giraffe

If and when I refer to a socially awkward giraffe I am talking about me. And I know it makes me a wallflower and I love referring to myself as a wallflower in my own personal journal however one of the things that makes me awkward is my height. And giraffes are tall. Hence why it's socially awkward giraffe.

The thing I love about being tall is that you can tease people about being short and that I can go on all the rides at theme parks. To be honest though that one is wasted on me because I am terrified of roller coasters.
On the other hand. Being tall is awkward. I have always had a little group of friends since I started secondary school but  a ever really hung out at lunch and break times. It wasn't really until about halfway through year nine until I had a proper little group. But when we hang round together we stand in a circle and chat. It's not as much of a problem now but last term it was definitely awkward as I was taller than them.

Also because I have 3 friend who are mega popular and their parties are always huge and because they are some of my best friends they are obliged to invite me. And I just stand there. Normally in the corner because when I try to socialise, if I wasn't awkward enough, I'm taller than them.

If you understand. Please tell me about it or something because sometimes it's an awful feeling.

Lips. Lips. Lips.

As I said in my last blog post I am addicted to lip balms, Vaseline and other general lip products. So here is a list of all the lip products that I would recommend to anyone.

First of all is, of course, Vaseline. I go through so many tins of the stuff. I keep one in my pencil case, my desk, my school locker and my handbag. They are so practice. I am just talking about the 4 basic ones. None of the limited editions. Of course they are nice but for daily use the basic ones are the best.  I will literally re-apply Vaseline all of the time. On the way to school, in class, watching tv, eating dinner, out in town. Literally nothing will stop me. I do love the flavour and the smell however if you apply it every ten minutes like me it's not that practical because it is tinted, which makes you look a bit like a clown if you put too much on. The aloe vera and the original Vaseline are really nice.

Next I will of course recommend the Maybelline Baby Lips. I have tried 4 out of the 6 and I personally own three. They all have a lovely taste and smell about them and also you can get them transparent or tinted so whatever floats your boat.

I have mentioned MUA before. It's a nice brand and when I am a bit strapped for cash it is excellent value for money. I can't remember the name of the products that I am recommending but to be honest they won't be hard to find. They are just the generic lip gloss and the lipstick. They cost around £1 each so they aren't any of the celebrity inspired products from their range. I normally keep one of the lipgloss' in my school bag and I have a lipstick in my clutch bag.

Finally I really like the Born Lippy Stick Lip Balm from The Body Shop. I own two of these and I am in love with them. I don't tend to carry these around but before I leave for school in the morning I put one on. They are good quality but I can't really tell you how long they last because I am constantly applying Vaseline anyway. I do however normally leave it longer than I normally would do before applying Vaseline.

I hoped this help. To be honest I'm not really sure there is a better person to ask when it comes to lip balm. My whole family think I am addicted.

My Favourite TV Shows As A Child

When I say that these shows were my favourite, I'm not joking, even now I love going onto YouTube and watch some old episodes.

Firstly has to be - The Story Of Tracy Beaker. I love ALL of Jacqueline Wilson's books and the TV show used to make my day, I start watching quite late in life because I would have been either a baby or a toddler when it started, I think I must have started watching when I was about 5 or 6, so when I started Infant School. I would watch another episode as soon as I got home from school every day and soon enough I had seen pretty much every single episode. Then I remember when I was 7 they announced a new series, I didn't know at the time that it would be the last ever series but it got me very excited, literally everyday I would be waiting to watch and sometimes I even started getting impatient. I loved that series and even today I will go onto YouTube and watch old episodes.

Secondly it is Tracy Beaker Returns, now I know that the last series of this was when I was 13 but the first series was when I was 11, I personally think that 11 is still an OK age to be watching CBBC so I had nothing wrong with it, 13 is also OK, as long as people in your class at school don't find out because they will probably laugh at you. The reason I had to watch this is obvious I think because The Story Of Tracy Beaker was one of my all time favourite childhood shows.

Next it is pretty much anything that was on Disney Channel between 2003 and 2009/10. My parents have always had freeview so whenever I went to my Grandparent's house, where they have a Sky Box, me and my brother would always watch Disney Channel(or Nickelodeon)- Lizzie McGuire was a favourite and of course I was too young for it when it first came out so I would always watch re-runs. I also loved: That's So Raven, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody(I wasn't too sure about The Suite Life on Deck though), Wizards of Waverly Place and Hannah Montana, when I was between 7-11 I was Hannah Montana's biggest fan in the history of the world, I had the books, DVDs, magazines, t-shirts a retro style joy stick that you could plug into the TV and even a singing microphone. I was a bit of a weird child.

My last favourite TV show was either probably iCarly or Drake and Josh. Nothing will ever be as good as Drake and Josh, I would always be found in hysterics watching that and then I was a bit annoyed when it finished. But then I had iCarly to turn to. Nothing will beat the original episodes in the first series but that certainly doesn't stop me from watching every single episode under the sun.

Anyway it was nice for me telling you about my childhood and I hope that you feel the same.

Lancôme Artliner & Other Eyeliner Rave

I am a normal(ish) teenage girl however I am not hugely into make up, the only thing I really care about is my eyes because they look naked without mascara, eyeliner and eye shadow. My favourite eyeliner isn't too cheap if you are on a small budget, like me, I am always skint but this was a present.

I have the Lancôme Artliner in black and it costs around the £20 region, I know that to some people that might be cheap but for others it is a tad pricey, however it is 100% worth it. I still have a little bit left and I got it at the end of April/start of May.

The brush is a felt tip which helps hugely with the application and also makes the process quicker. It makes is easier to do a cat eye look as well. I used to use eye pencils and since I have been using this eyeliner, I have never had the urge to go back.

I also found that the eyeliner is slightly waterproof, and I don't think it is advertised as waterproof, so that is another bonus in my opinion. Obviously it didn't work when I went swimming on holiday but when I had a movie day with my friend I started crying at The Last Song and my eyeliner hadn't smudged, I was quite impressed.

A few weeks ago I thought I was running out to I purchased a new liquid eyeliner which was a lot cheaper, it was from Natural Collection in Boots and it cost me less than £2. The brush on this was awful, I hated it because it wasn't like Lancôme's felt tip, it was literally a little brush, I can't really fault the product itself but the brush was letting the side down, I am sorry Boots but I don't think I will purchase that again.

The first day I used my new Lancôme Artliner I went to some friend's for dinner, the moment I got there they were asking about my eyeliner and complimenting me, which they still do when I see them.

Eyeliner : Artliner, Eyes Makeup
Now it isn't my birthday for just under a month and I needed a new eyeliner and as the Lancôme Artliner  was a bit out of my price range and I can't wait for my birthday I bought a new liquid eyeliner in Superdrug yesterday. I got it at the MUA counter, and I assume it was on offer because it only cost me £1. What I love about this eyeliner is that it is waterproof and the brush is quite similar. It is slightly thinner which I haven't decided whether that is better yet or not because I normally have slightly thicker eyeliner.
.MUA Eye Liner Waterproof Black

I hope this reccomendation has helped, whether you are looking for something on a budget or if you are looking for something a bit upper-market.
